Georges Jeannin (1841-1925)

Georges Jeannin earned a reputation as a master floral and still-life painter in oils and watercolors.  Learning in the atelier of his mentor, Vincelet, he trained as a classicist, gradually experimenting in the newer Impressionist style of the late 19th century.

Jeannin debuted at the Paris Salon in 1868 and was a regular exhibitor thereafter. He later became the President of The French Society of Flower Painters and obtained many awards. Jeannin was conferred with the award of Chevalier de la Legion d'Honneur in 1903.

Works of Jeannin can be found in museums around the world including Petit Palais, Rouen, Nancy, Mulhouse, Valenciennes, and the prestigious Musée d’Orsay.
