The silver mount on this antique pitcher is the work of the Mauser Manufacturing Company.  Established sometime around 1887 in Massachusetts, the firm moved to New York in 1890.  The company was known for its high-quality art nouveau sterling and other decorative pieces.  In the early 20th century, Mauser merged with other companies to form the Mt. Vernon Silver Company, only to be purchased a decade later by Gorham.
