George Riecke (1848-1930) was a painter of rural life and farm animals, as well as landscapes.  There is little known about his life, save that he painted in Wisconsin, New York and was active in  New Orleans as a member of the Artists Association of New Orleans between 1887 and 1902.  There is record of his exhibiting in 1900 at the National Academy of Design in New York City.
