George Arthur Hays ( 1854-1934) was a self-taught artist known for his pastoral landscapes, particularly those featuring cattle and sheep. His work is characterized by the Barbizon tradition and reflects the serene beauty of rural America. Hays lived his adult life in Rhode Island and was a member of several art clubs, including the Providence Art Club, where he exhibited from 1888 to 1940. His art has been featured in various exhibitions and auctions, showcasing his enduring appeal and the quality of his work.
