Adams style is an 18th century Neoclassical style practiced by Scottish architect William Adams and his sons. Their work set the style for fine interiors for much of the latter 18th century. Sons Robert and James published an engraved pattern book entitled The Works in Architecture to allow others to imitate their designs. They often incorporated Egyptian and Estrucan motifs into their work. By 1895, the style preference in England had shifted to Regency and to French Empire in France.
Wedgwood was founded by the British potter and entrepreneur Josiah Wedgwood on May 1, 1759. It is particularly noted for unglazed stoneware Jasperware , produced in many colors, but most often known as “Wedgwood blue” and white.
