Antique English Tudor Style Bench

Height: 10 1/2 inches   Width: 29 inches   Depth: 11 inches

Tudor furniture in England dates to the 16th century.  The style was a mixture of Gothic with Italian, Flemish and French influences.  Tudor furniture was solid and strong, made from European woods such as oak, walnut and elm; inlays were often sycamore or yew.  The linenfold motif, where word carving or paneling imitated folded linen, was a key feature of the Tudor style.
