Petit point embroidery is a fine, detailed form of needlework.  Very small stitches are used to create intricate designs on fine mesh canvas.

 

Giltwood is wood that has been treated with a layer of gold leaf, a technique that became popular in the 18th and 19th centuries.  In antique furniture, it is considered a sign of luxury.
