Albert Lasker (1880-1952) led one of the largest and most progressive ad agencies in the 20th century from its home base in Chicago.  Lasker hired David Adler to design and oversee construction on his personal estate in the 1920s.  The estate encompassed 480 acres, including a 55 room mansion, numerous outbuildings, and a private golf course.

 

Over his long career, American architect David Adler (1882-1949) deisgned over 45 homes, 27 in the Chicago area. He often collaborated on interior furnishings with his sister, Frances Adler Elkins, one of the most prominent 20th century interior designers.
