An antique silver wine trolley is a 19th-century luxury dining accessory, usually English or French, designed to transport wine decanters or bottles along a dining table. Typically made of sterling silver or silver plate, these wheeled, carriage-like devices often feature two coasters, decorative vines, and a handle for smooth movement between guests. Some have tilting mechanisms to aid in pouring without disturbing sediment. They are believed to have been invented for King George IV in the 1820s to avoid passing bottles manually.
