(1846-1914)
Height: 20 1/2 inches Width: 17 1/4 inches Depth: 5 inches
Edmond Van Coppenolle was born in Ghent, Belgium, in 1846. He moved to Montigny, close to Moret-sur-Loing in France to work at the newly opened Schopin porcelain factory. Here he produced sketches and studies that were used for decoration on the porcelain. He was also a very skilled floral painter, achieving a naturalistic look that was in favor in France at this period. These pair of porcelain plaques show off his talent and eye for composition to good advantage.
