The Queen Anne style emerged in early 18th century England and is named after the queen who reigned between 1702-1714. Three features that are typical of the Queen Anne style are the almost exclusive use of walnut, a cabriole (double curved) leg, and padded feet. The style is characterized by graceful curves, flowing lines and simple decorations, with a focus on comfort and elegance.   Dutch furniture is  known for its intricate marquetry work, where different veneers are combined to create decorative patterns.
