Famille Rose ("Rose Family") is a type of Chinese porcelain introduced in the 18th Century during the Qing Dynasty and defined by a pink overglaze enamel. The colors are predominantly pink, white, yellow and green.  The designs typically feature flowers, birds and other botanical or mythical motifs.  Famille Rose pieces became very popular for export to the West.
