Pair Estate Venetian Porcelain Pirate Statues by Professor Pattarino, Circa 1950

Eugenio Pattarino (1885-1971)

Height: 12 inches  Width: 8 1/2 inches  Depth: 5 inches

Eugenio Pattarino (1885-1971) was an Italian artist/sculptor who studied under Giovanni Fattori and was known for his brightly enameled terracotta pieces of religious or commedia dell'arte  themes.  An interesting fact is that Pattarino's career began in the aftermath of World War II in war-torn Italy.  Pattarino's works are highly expressive and remain favorites of collectors today.
