This brass jardiniere is European-made, but not from England or France.

 

Jardinieres  are decorative containers for holding plants or flowers.  They were usually indoors, but larger outdoor containers may also be called jardinieres.  Jardinieres can be made of a variety of materials and may be very simply in design, or highly decorated.
