A demi-lune (“half-moon”) table is crescent-shaped with a graceful front and a straight back designed to be set against a wall.  They may have three to four legs.  Demi-lune tables can substitute for consoles or credenzas, especially in long, narrow spaces.  Their shape also adds a softer line to the furnishings in a room.  Demilunes have been popular for centuries and come in many sizes, shapes and designs.
